Lovingly dedicated to the memory of Roberta Lynn Griffey.

She never met a stranger and never forgot a friend. Roberta Lynn Griffey was born June 15, 1965, the fifth child of six born to Paul and Alberta Griffey, of Monongah, West Virginia. Roberta attended the West Virginia Public School System, graduating from North Marion High School in 1983. She attended West Virginia Business College. Roberta and Antwan Beafore (of Fairmont, WV) were gifted with two beautiful daughters Twanetta Sherryi Griffey and LaShya Denay Griffey. She later relocated to Atlanta, Georgia. Roberta met and married Marc Weaver on August 8, 1998, at an elaborate, beautifully planned ceremony at Evergreen Resort in Stone Mountain, Georgia. She was a stunning, elegant and charismatic bride. Roberta, affectionately known as “Roe”... Was everyone’s sister, confidante, a true person of compassion, generosity and love. Roe at her very essence was genuine. She gave, loved, forgave, understood and supported...unconditionally. Her love was often instrumental in turning a trial to a triumph. She lived her life unselfishly, providing love to everyone she met. She was the glue, the strongest link in a chain that connected her family and her extended -family for a lifetime and beyond . Her legacy lives in those bonds, in that loyalty and love for one another. Roe lived life to the fullest! A spirit full of life! She loved to travel and sight see. Roe was always up for a trip! Always ready/willing to travel enabling her to spend time with her family as often as she could. She was a true Diva always put together with latest shoes, fresh hair style and fashion. She loved shopping (often first to birthday parties, graduations, celebrations of all kinds for everyone). Roberta always remembered the children, never missing an opportunity to shower them with gifts, good cooking and love! She never met a stranger and never forgot a friend. Roe was employed with First Communities for over 16 years. She and the family are so genuinely appreciative of the love, compassion and outreach of Rob Johnson and the whole First Communities Family. Compassion that extended far beyond regular employee/employer relationships and grew into bonds of friendship. Roberta confessed her love for Christ at the early age of nine years old at Miles Chapel, CME in Fairmont, West Virginia. Most recently, she began attending Mountain West Christian Church in Stone Mountain, Georgia. She enjoyed the family focused, small community feel at Mountain West and it’s much needed support and prayers during her illness. Roberta made her transition peacefully at home surrounded by her family and friends on Wednesday, April 4th, 2012. Coincidently, this is the same day of Civil Rights Leader, Martin Luther King, Jr.’s death. What a rich honor and legacy! She leaves to cherish her memories, a loving family, her husband Marc, step daughter Miranda (daughter: Audrey) devoted daughters, Twanetta and Lashya; granddaughter, DaLona, parents, Paul & Alberta Griffey of West Virginia, siblings: Brian Griffey, Deborah (Larry) Freeman, Michael Griffey all of Monongah, WV, Joyce Smith of Stone Mtn, GA, Kimberly (Greg) Tucker of Virginia Beach, VA, extended family including: nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
